American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery role requiring 2 years of L&D experience and current ACLS, BLS, NRP, and STABLE certifications.

• Work in an acute care Labor & Delivery unit with 9 L&D beds, 1 OR suite, 2 triage beds, and 4 postpartum beds
• Manages a patient population including LDRP, obstetrical emergencies, hypertension, and hemorrhage
• Nurses are required to circulate and/or scrub in the OR for cesarean sections
• Uses MEDITECH for charting and GE Centricity for EFM; prior experience preferred
• Patient ratios follow AWHONN guidelines
• Telemetry available with RNs required to read strips in OB
• 12-hour night shifts with 2 required 12-hour call shifts every 4 weeks
• Every other weekend or 1 weekend per schedule based on seniority
• Closed unit with floating only in emergency measures
• Orientation provided for all new employees
• RNs are responsible for titrating drips and reading fetal heart monitor strips
• OB techs and both a charge nurse and house supervisor are present on the unit
• No OB/neonatologist in-house 24/7
• Scrubs are provided; color is purple
• Must not have been directly employed by Common Spirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year
• Holiday requirements per union contract
• First-time travelers accepted
• Unit/department-specific orientation is provided

• Active OR RN license or Compact RN license required at time of consideration; 90-day emergency license may be requested upon offer
• Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery experience
• Current certifications required: ACLS (AHA), BLS, NRP, and STABLE
• Ability to circulate and/or scrub for cesarean sections
• Experience with titrating IV drips such as Pitocin, LR, Fentanyl, and Labetalol
• Two professional references: one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years
• Copy of driver's license required
