Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN — Labor and Delivery — for a 13‑week travel assignment in Roseburg, Oregon.

Required Qualifications
  • One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
  • Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
  • Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
  • NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
  • STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA / ARC)
  • Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Essential Work Functions
  • Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
  • Prepare equipment and aid physicians during labor, delivery, and examinations of patients
  • Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
  • Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
  • Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols
  • Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
  • Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
  • Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
  • Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing
Required Essential Skills
  • Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
  • The ability to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficient in PC skills
  • Physical abilities: remain in a stationary position, move equipment (50–100 lbs), push, pull, bend
  • Interpersonal skills: effective collaboration with a variety of personnel, maintaining a positive attitude and professionalism
  • Technical/Motor skills: fine manipulation, push/pull, assistance during procedures and use of department equipment
  • Mental requirements: cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision or independently as required, handle irregular activity schedules, maintain concentration to detail
  • Sensory: possess visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively
