DescriptionAmerican Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN for a Level III Trauma Center position on night shift, requiring TNCC certification and at least 2 years of ED experience.
Details- Level III Trauma Center with 21 ED beds and 1 trauma bay
- 4-bed fast track area and 2 dedicated triage rooms, with travelers permitted to triage
- ER holds are intermixed within the department and managed by ER staff
- 4 psych/seclusion rooms plus 2 convertible crisis rooms in the ER
- In-house security available 24/7
- Approximately 125 patients per day with typical 4:1 nurse-to-patient ratios
- General ED patient population and diagnoses
- 24/7 ED physician coverage with PA support 8-16 hours per day
- 24/7 ED Charge RN and House Supervisor coverage
- 24/7 ED Tech support for patient care
- Uses MEDITECH EMR
- Telemetry monitoring available; RNs read strips
- RT performs ABGs and breathing treatments; RNs and Techs perform EKGs
- Imaging staff transport patients for X-ray and CT
- ED Techs and RNs perform most blood draws
- 12-hour night shifts,
- Every other weekend requirement
- Holiday coverage as scheduled per contract
- No call or standby requirement
- No floating requirement
- Active RN license (Standard or Compact) for the state of practice required at time of submission
- OR license required, though not needed at time of submittal; facility is willing to request a 90-day emergency license
- Minimum 2 years of ER/ED nursing experience required
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, TNCC
- PALS or ENPC recommended but not required
- Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including employment dates and rehire eligibility
- Copy of driver's license required for consideration
- Provide direct patient care in a busy, high-acuity Level III Trauma Center emergency department
- Unit-specific orientation provided before first shift, totaling 12 hours
- Scrub/dress code allows any color other than purple
- Candidates may not have been directly employed (full time, part time, or PRN) by any Common Spirit-affiliated facility, including CHI and/or Dignity, within the past year; PRN employment through outside firms is acceptable
