Campus Store Manager Full-Time | Exempt

UCC is looking for an energetic, service-focused Campus Store Manager to oversee one of the busiest and most visible spaces on campus.

The Campus Store is much more than a bookstore—it's where students grab supplies before class, pick up snacks between lectures, show their school spirit, and connect with the college community. As the Campus Store Manager, you'll play a key role in creating a welcoming environment while ensuring the store runs smoothly, efficiently, and successfully.

Operations
  • Maintain and refine store policies, processes and daily operations to maximize service quality and efficiency, including cash handling, pricing standards, loss prevention, book buyback, and customer relations.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure smooth, compliant operations that support both academic success and the campus community.
  • Oversee operational budget to include forecasting and balancing revenues and expenditures.
Inventory Management
  • Maintain inventory management across multiple product lines – textbooks, food, apparel, and merchandise – ensuring the right mix, at the right time.
  • Assist and serve as backup to Textbook & Retail Coordinator to perform textbook adoptions.
  • Research products and negotiate pricing, quality, and delivery.
  • Generate purchase orders, set resale pricing, and authorize vendor payment.
  • Conduct year-end inventory process and provide supporting documentation for the annual audit.
Supervision and Compliance
  • Inspire, train, and supervise a dedicated store team to deliver exceptional, knowledgeable service to students, faculty, staff and the community.
  • Oversee compliance with the Higher Education Opportunity Act and college policies and procedures.
  • Ensure continuous licensing through the Health Department by meeting local health code guidelines.
Customer Service
  • Leverage data, customer feedback, and market trends to enhance store offerings and identify growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate and maintain a flexible customer-centric environment.
  • Provide cashiering service to customers.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Familiarity with academic cycles, textbook adoption processes, digital content, and publisher relationships.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to plan, prioritize, and execute operational strategies that align with institutional goals and seasonal demands.
  • Must possess a positive and energetic demeanor with a natural ability to create a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for customers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of audiences.
  • Resourceful and solutions-focused, with the ability to navigate challenges and embrace change.
Required
  • Associate’s degree plus at least three years of experience in retail or college store management — or a comparable mix of education and experience that shows the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Strong expertise in retail operations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and Adobe
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and maintain eligibility for coverage under the company’s vehicle insurance policy.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or similar field
  • Experience managing store operations from either a two-year or four-year institution.
  • Knowledge of Banner, Verba, and/or Booklog systems.
  • Experience with Canva.
