Position acts as a Lead Day Support Activities Direct Support Professional in the absence of the Supervisor for Sunrise Enterprises of Roseburg, Inc., a private non-profit Corporation that provides employment and community inclusion services for adults with disabilities. This position is responsible for assisting in the training, supervision, and motivation of participants and staff to meet their daily goals, engage at or above their established levels and assist them in achieving their highest potential.
This position is also responsible for the safety of participants and staff and ensuring their activities meet our quality standards. The Lead DSP also acts as a mentor for other DSPs and to inspire greatness.

- $17.00 hr.
- Monday-Friday
- 7:30-3:30
- High School Diploma/GED, degree in related field preferred, two year’s experience working with adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities is preferred but not required (training is provided).
- At least 18 years of age.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Positive work ethics, including punctuality, dependability, task completion able to meet deadlines and balance multiple tasks and relationships.
- Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office products required.
- Must have proven, stable employment history.
- Strong organizational skills. Strong verbal, written, open, collaborative, and solutions-oriented communication and teamwork skills.
- Valid Oregon driver’s license and must be insurable by Sunrise insurance carrier.
- Proficiency with electronic documentation systems (e.g., Set Works) preferred.
- Able to work with limited supervision, displaying initiative and creativity in the workplace.
- Must have ability and desire to relate to people with physical/mental disabilities with dignity and respect.
- Attention to detail, in order to create documents for reporting purposes.
- Must be able to pass criminal history checks and drug screen including THC.
- Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification. /li
- Must obtain OIS Certification and believe in its philosophy.
Hours:
Typically, 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Monday – Friday but may vary. Must be available (on call) after hours. Overtime may be required. Available on call hours. Mostly indoors, exposure to dust, noise, and various weather conditions.
Physical/Mental Requirements:
Must be physically able to assist program participants, including assisted lifting, transfer, and hygiene/personal care if needed. Walking, sitting, stooping, bending, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. Driving and transporting participants and program participants. Ability to multitask and handle/diffuse tense situations. Reasonable accommodations will be made for a person with a disability under ADA.
Essential Functions:
- Assure a high quality of Sunrise Enterprises services are provided to our participants.
