Material Handler, Forklift Operator
Job Position
This position requires working on the case dock handling cases and cleaning/sanitizing trailers and bossy carts. Use of hand trucks, metal dairy hooks, pallet jacks, and chemicals is expected. Lifting up to 100 lbs. and some paperwork is required. Shift is normally spent in an outside environment.
Pay Range: $19.62 - $21.80
Essential Functions- Loads and unloads cases from pallets, trays, racks, and chains.
- Maintains cases on production line to sustain production.
- Keeps cases debris free.
- Stacks or assembles materials onto pallet & shrink-wraps stacks to secure materials.
- Lifts objects by hand, with metal hook, or with pallet jack.
- Operates pallet jack in loading or moving materials.
- Keeps work area clean and free of debris, broken products, and any other hazards.
- Use chemicals to clean/sanitize work area, trailers, bossy carts, and work environment.
- Make sure all chemical wash systems are kept supplied with chemicals in the work area.
- Occasional ground keeping may be required.
- Record keeping is required.
Skills and Abilities
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to work flexible schedules including shift work, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work in a cold environment.
- Good written and oral communications skills.
- Good math skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Must be dependable and responsible.
- Be able to lift 50 lbs. overhead.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Be able to spend majority of shift standing or walking.
