Med Star Franklin Square Hospital is seeking a Staffing Specialist. This position develops and maintains staffing schedules for the nursing services department and maintains related records. Assists in the projection of staffing needs relative to vacancies and hospital census and keeps Human Resources aware of recruiting vacancies.

Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM - Weekend Commitment:
Every 4th weekend (Saturday & Sunday, 1:30 PM – 10:00 PM) - Payroll Adjustment:
Every other Monday, shift adjusts to 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM to support payroll processing.
Initial training will be conducted Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, for approximately the first 3–4 months.
Position SummaryMed Star Franklin Square Hospital is seeking a Staffing Specialist. This position develops and maintains staffing schedules for the nursing services department and maintains related records. Assists in the projection of staffing needs relative to vacancies and hospital census and keeps Human Resources aware of recruiting vacancies.
Primary Duties And Responsibilities- Develop, maintain, and adjust nursing staffing schedules to ensure appropriate 24‑hour coverage based on unit staffing patterns, census fluctuations, vacancies, vacations, and last‑minute absences, utilizing cost‑effective staffing options and coordinating float pool personnel assignments.
- Analyze staffing projection data and workforce trends to identify short‑ and long‑term staffing needs; communicate recruitment needs and strategies to leadership and collaborate with Human Resources on temporary and supplemental staffing, including coordinating orientation for temporary personnel.
- Maintain comprehensive staffing records and reporting systems, including Position Control Reports, Negative Time Reports, vacancy tracking, weekend absences, long‑term leave monitoring, shift‑by‑shift actual staffing, and current nursing personnel listings; communicate key staffing data to leadership.
- Support departmental goals and regulatory compliance by adhering to hospital policies, accreditation standards, and quality initiatives; participate in committees, multidisciplinary improvement teams, and represent the department as required.
- Associate's degree in Business or related field
- Or High School Diploma or GED equivalent plus an equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 2 years related experience
USD $20.57 - USD $36.27 /Hr.
