Join our closed-door pharmacy team as an Engineering Technician – Automation. The Engineering Technician – Automation at Remedi Senior Care is responsible for maintaining and enhancing automated dispensing and packaging systems. This hands-on role involves PLC and HMI programming, troubleshooting, and leading engineering projects aimed at process optimization, preventative maintenance, and equipment upgrades. The technician plays a key role in minimizing downtime, improving operational efficiency, and supporting high-quality patient care.
Location:
On-Site at our Closed door LTC Pharmacy (9006 Yellow Brick Rd, Baltimore, MD 21237)
Salary:
Starting at $95,000 annually (dependent on experience)
Schedule:
Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (variable based on business needs) (On call rotation)

Director of Automation, Engineering and Maintenance

- Maintain and improve system performance to meet design specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on dispensing and unit dose packaging equipment, ensuring timely completion based on priorities.
- Operate dispensing and packaging systems (as authorized) to support fulfillment operations and ensure production targets are met.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical system issues independently, minimizing downtime and driving permanent corrective actions.
- Requisition, organize, and manage spare parts inventory; maintain accurate records of part usage.
- Assemble and test mechanical devices and systems per blueprints or specifications, even when documentation is incomplete.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance and operator training programs to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Utilize a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track work orders, calibrations, and parts usage.
- Identify and maintain critical spare parts inventory with appropriate stocking levels.
- Partner with equipment suppliers on factory acceptance testing (FAT) and site acceptance testing (SAT) for new machinery.
- Provide on-site startup and training support for new pharmacy installations.
- Train production operators and Electro Mechanics on equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
- Review shift pass-downs and completed work orders, providing feedback for process improvement.
- Participate in the on-call rotation, providing primary support one week every 4–6 weeks.
- Provide occasional evening and weekend support for project implementation or issue resolution.
- Adhere to Clarest’s Code of Conduct, follow Clarest Compliance policies and procedures, and report any suspected violations of federal or state laws to their supervisor, Human Resources or the Compliance Officer.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Packaging, or related Engineering field, or equivalent hands-on technical experience.
- 3–6 years of experience in a manufacturing or automation environment.
- Strong background in electro-mechanical systems, low-voltage control systems, and 3-phase power (up to 220V).
