Anticipated Leave Replacement Teacher

Position:
Anticipated Leave Replacement Teacher of Preschool at Robert Gordon Elementary School

Dates:
September, 2026 - February, 2027

Key Responsibilities

Implement lesson plans, daily schedules, classroom routines, and instructional activities. Maintain a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment. Support student engagement in whole-group, small-group, center-based, outdoor, and individualized learning experiences. Use positive guidance, redirection, and developmentally appropriate behavior supports. Support students' social-emotional development, independence, communication, and peer interactions. Collaborate effectively with preschool paraprofessionals, instructional coaches, related service providers, administrators, and other school staff.

Follow classroom health, safety, supervision, toileting, arrival, dismissal, and emergency procedures. Support students with disabilities and diverse learning needs in inclusive preschool settings. Maintain confidentiality regarding students, families, staff, and school matters. Perform other preschool-related duties as assigned by the Director of Preschool, Bilingual Education & Funded Programs or designee.

Qualifications

Valid New Jersey Instructional Endorsement - Elementary School Teacher N-8 or Teacher of Preschool required. Experience working with preschool-aged children strongly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of developmentally appropriate early childhood practices and New Jersey Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards preferred. Strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and classroom management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, paraprofessionals, administrators, families, and related service providers. Demonstrated patience, flexibility, professionalism, and commitment to supporting the needs of young children.

Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Salary

$66,000 (to be prorated for contract term)
