Project Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer

We are seeking a Project Engineer to manage projects from initial concept through completion, with a strong focus on delivering commitments on time and on budget while meeting defined milestones, schedules, and cost estimates. This role is highly cross-functional and will work closely with customers, sales, engineering, operations, service, and purchasing throughout the full project lifecycle to ensure successful execution and customer satisfaction.

The Project Engineer will play a key role in both technical execution and project coordination, serving as a liaison between engineering and operations, as well as between the organization and its customers, vendors, and suppliers.

• Manage projects from proposal and design through manufacturing, delivery, and closeout
• Prepare preliminary and proposal-level designs and participate in design and engineering review meetings
• Ensure customer approval drawings, documentation, and released drawings are complete and submitted on schedule
• Coordinate closely with customers, sales, engineering, operations, service, and purchasing to support project execution
• Serve as a technical liaison to address design questions, resolve issues, and coordinate field activities as needed
• Support manufacturing and service teams throughout the project lifecycle
• Manage project financials, including estimates at completion (EACs), cost tracking, and change management
• Support engineering change processes and ensure timely communication of impacts
• Prepare and present project status updates to internal stakeholders
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Mentor and support junior engineers by providing guidance on design standards, documentation, and project execution
• Support domestic and international travel as required

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), Electrical Engineering (BSEE), or equivalent relevant experience
• 2–5 years of experience in project engineering, design engineering, or a related role in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Strong proficiency in Solid Works and AutoCAD for mechanical design, layouts, and documentation
• Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including engineered systems and custom equipment
• Proven experience managing projects through the full lifecycle
• Ability to meet aggressive schedules and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with engineers, operations, sales, customers, and vendors
• Experience acting as a liaison between engineering, manufacturing, service, purchasing, and customers
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and support team development

• Experience working directly with internal and external customers
• Background in custom machinery, engineered-to-order systems, or industrial equipment manufacturing
• Experience managing project financials, including EACs, cost tracking, and change management
• Familiarity with engineering change processes (ECNs, PCNs, project impact notices)
• Experience supporting field operations, installations, or service activities
• Exposure to continuous improvement or cost-reduction initiatives
• Willingness and ability to support domestic and international travel
