The Village of Roselle, Illinois (22,897) seeks a full-time Wastewater Operator in the Public Works Department. The position performs technical and physical work on the operation, maintenance, and improvement of the mechanical, electrical, chemical, and biological wastewater treatment equipment and systems associated with the Village’s two wastewater treatment plants, lift stations and the sanitary sewer collection system.

• Wastewater Treatment Operations:Monitor the wastewater treatment process in accordance with all applicable laws and EPA regulations.
• Sanitary Collection System:Maintain and inspect sanitary lift stations and sanitary sewer collection system using sewer jet, vacuum trucks, closed circuit televising equipment and other related items. Repair sanitary lines when blockage occurs using jetting machine and other tools.
• Equipment Maintenance and Repairs:Perform preventative and corrective maintenance tasks on equipment and machinery including greasing and changing oil.
  
  Repairing pumps, motors, compressors, aerators, and filters.
  
  Repair and maintain meters, gauges, gear reducers, and other plant equipment.
• Construction & General Public Works Tasks: Perform construction and maintenance tasks such as truck driving, excavating, and working on sanitary sewers, storm sewers, and water mains.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a CDL endorsement, or the ability to obtain a CDL within (6) months (CDL training will be provided at no cost to the candidate through the Village’s training program).
• At least (3) years of experience in public works and/or the construction industry.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain within (12) months, a Class IV Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator-in-Training License. (Training will be provided at no cost to the candidate through the Village’s training program).

This role comes with a salary range of $62,188 – 83,524. This position is a member of Operating Engineers, Local 150 union, receives comprehensive benefits including paid time off, pension, health and life insurance.
