Starting $15/hour, DOQ;
Approx 2-3 hours/week, Fridays 6:45-8:45p; ongoing sessions (each session approx 5 weeks long, year round). Eligible for benefits including free individual fitness center pass, free individual pool pass, 25% off programs (certain restrictions apply).
Under the supervision of the Recreation Supervisor, the Athletics Instructor must be able to instruct youths (ages 8-14) in the fundamental skills and rules of volleyball. Excellent manner and communicative skills are required.
Qualifications & Skills- Must be able to perform all essential functions of the position.
- Must understand the principles of customer service.
- Must be able to interact well with participants and their guardians/parents.
- Ability to communicate including sighted and auditory comprehension and verbal and writing ability.
- A thorough knowledge and superior communicative skills for ages involved is required.
- Instructors must be able to successfully implement and maintain order during a wide range of drills and games.
- Complete Roselle Park District Accident Report Form as needed for submission to Recreation Supervisor.
- Games and drills must be conducted with an emphasis on safety first and fun second. Parents should be notified if their child is a disruptive force during class and action taken.
- Attendance should be taken prior to start of each class session.
- Necessary equipment should be set-up and available prior to start of class and returned to storage area post-class.
- Class needs to be started and completed per time allocated.
- Roselle Park District Program Evaluation forms are to be distributed, collected, and returned to supervisor following last class of program session.
- Supervisor will be notified if new equipment needs to be ordered for program.
- Roselle Park District Accident Report forms will be completed and submitted to supervisor in the event of an injury suffered during class.
- Program facility must be clean and neat upon completion of each class.
