Job Summary:
This position is for a Spanish Teacher at Leonard V Moore Middle School for the school year.
Qualifications/Responsibilities:
- Valid New Jersey Teaching Certification in Spanish or World Languages
- Bachelor's degree required;
Master's degree preferred - Experience teaching middle school students (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of second language acquisition strategies
- Ability to engage and motivate adolescent learners
- Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Preferred Experience:
Experience working in urban or diverse school settings - Familiarity with SEL practices and restorative approaches
- Experience integrating technology into instruction
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) proficiency
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver standards-based Spanish instruction for grades 5-8
- Develop engaging lessons that promote communication and language acquisition
- Integrate cultural components into daily instruction
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with IEPs and 504 Plans
- Assess student progress and use data to inform instruction
- Maintain a positive classroom environment with effective management strategies
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, special education staff, and administration
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress
- Participate in school-wide initiatives, including Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) programs
- Supervise students during assigned duties (e.g., lunch, recess, hallway transitions)
- Strong classroom management and consistency with setting rituals and routines
Stipend/Salary: REA Salary Guide Range BA:
Step 1 $ 61,500.00- MA+30 Step 21 $
