Comments and Other Information

High school diploma or equivalency is required. In order to comply with the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (Public Law 107-110), all paraprofessionals hired after January 8, 2002, must meet one of the following additional requirements:
1) completion of at least two years of study at an accredited college or university (48 semester units): or
2) obtained an associate's (or higher) degree; or
3) met a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrated, through a formal state or local assessment, knowledge of and ability to assist in instructing either (a) reading, writing, and mathematics, or (b) reading readiness, writing readiness, and mathematics readiness, as appropriate.
