Ami Meter Operations & Monitoring Specialist
Client in the utilities and energy space is seeking an AMI Meter Operations & Monitoring Specialist to support large-scale Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) environments for electric and gas utilities.
Schedule:
HYBRID, 2 days per week in Rosemead, CA office Responsibilities:
- Support daily operations of large-scale AMI meter networks for electric and gas utilities.
- Monitor meter communications across RF Mesh (RFLAN), RF LAN, and cellular networks.
- Analyze read-rate performance, meter connectivity, and sector acceptance metrics.
- Identify and resolve non-communicating meter issues through root cause analysis.
- Validate remote connect/disconnect functionality and service switch operations.
- Perform RF interference analysis and mitigation strategies to improve meter connectivity.
- Perform SQL-based data validation to confirm meter data accuracy in upstream/downstream systems.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience supporting AMI systems, smart meters, or utility metering infrastructure
- Experience supporting large-scale AMI deployments (1M+ meters preferred)
- Strong expertise in AMI network communications (RF Mesh, RFLAN, Cellular)
- Experience with Itron AMI platforms (RIVA, OWOC, Performance Manager)
- Familiarity with Oracle CC&B or Oracle C2M billing systems
