Job Summary
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Manager/Advisor to support the AMI 2.0 Program, a large-scale, multi-year deployment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI).
In this role, you will lead the procurement strategy and execution for AMI 2.0 Meter and Network Device Installation Contractor Services, managing the complete procurement lifecycle—from sourcing strategy and RFP development through contract award and transition to post-award execution. You will partner with cross-functional business teams, procurement leadership, legal, suppliers, and external consultants to deliver strategic sourcing initiatives while ensuring governance, compliance, and alignment with program objectives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities for AMI 2.0 installation contractor services.
  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies, RFPs, supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards.
  • Serve as the primary procurement liaison for the AMI Engineering & Technology Deployment team and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Coordinate procurement activities across Engineering, Legal, Supply Management, Operations, IT, Cybersecurity, Logistics, Safety, Customer Experience, and Regulatory teams.
  • Manage procurement schedules, milestones, risks, documentation, and governance requirements.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with enterprise sourcing policies, audit requirements, and supplier communication protocols.
  • Coordinate external advisory consultants and ensure deliverables support sourcing objectives.
  • Evaluate supplier proposals based on commercial, technical, contractual, and risk considerations.
  • Prepare executive presentations, procurement recommendations, issue logs, and decision materials.
  • Support supplier onboarding and transition to post-award contract management.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Experience leading complex strategic sourcing or procurement initiatives for large-scale utility, infrastructure, technology, capital, or field services programs.
  • Strong knowledge of the complete Source-to-Contract (S2C) lifecycle, including:
  • Procurement strategy
  • RFP development
  • Commercial structuring
  • Supplier evaluations
  • Contract negotiations
  • Contract award
  • Supplier onboarding
  • Experience managing cross-functional stakeholders across technical, legal, commercial, operational, and governance functions.
  • Strong project management, planning, coordination, and execution skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience preparing executive-level presentations and documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, competing priorities, and multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with SAP Ariba, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Power Point
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) deployment programs.
  • Knowledge of meter installation, field services, inventory management, warehousing, or asset disposal.
  • Experience in utility, regulated industry, or large enterprise procurement environments.
  • Experience working within union labor environments.
  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrated emotional intelligence with the ability to build trusted relationships and influence without direct authority.
