Licensed Psychiatric Technician

Responsibilities

BHC Alhambra Hospital is located in Rosemead, California. It is a 115‑bed private psychiatric hospital serving children, adolescents and adults. The Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, providing nursing care and supporting psychiatric treatment plans.

Shift: 11:00 pm–7:30 am. This position requires caring, compassionate and hardworking individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately collect data needed for the integrated assessment.
• Take and record vital signs properly.
• Observe patient appearance, behavior and ability to meet treatment plan goals, and document changes.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the Charge Nurse.
• Report signs and symptoms of infection to the Charge Nurse.

Requirements:

• Education:
  
  Graduate from an accredited professional vocational school of nursing or vocational training as a psychiatric technician, preferably with education in Child and Adolescent Development.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum one (1) year LVN in psychiatric nursing preferred, with six (6) months in Child and Adolescent Development preferred.
• Licensure:
  Licensed to practice vocational nursing from the State Board of Nursing or Psychiatric Technicians.
