CHARGE NURSE

Responsibilities

BHC Alhambra Hospital is located in the beautiful city of Rosemead, California. Our 115‑bed facility, established in 1924, is a private, fully accredited full‑service acute psychiatric hospital serving children, adolescents, and adults. We provide inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient options for individuals in the San Gabriel Valley, Los Angeles County, and surrounding areas.

Job Title:

Charge Nurse (RN)

Shift Available: AM 7:00 am‑7:30 pm; NOC 7:00 pm‑7:30 am

The Charge Nurse prescribes, delegates, coordinates, and evaluates patient care through collaborative efforts with the healthcare team and in accordance with the nursing process and standards of care. Supervisory responsibilities for LVN/LPT and Program Specialists.

• Complete a comprehensive nursing assessment and patient interview within eight hours of patient admission to the unit.
• Document patient information and nursing care.
• Document and reassess any significant changes in the patient’s condition in compliance with facility policy.
• Delegate staff assignments based on patient needs.
• Make daily patient care assignments based on individual staff’s level of competency.
• Supervise nursing staff to assure timely completion of patient activities of daily living (ADLs).

• Education:
  
  Graduate from an accredited nursing program. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience:
  
  Minimum of three (3) years as a registered nurse in a psychiatric health care facility preferred.
• License:
  Currently licensed to practice by the State Board of Nursing.
