Technician, Facility Services General Maintenance

Position Summary

General Facilities Maintenance Technician at Walmart, responsible for routine maintenance tasks that uphold the safety, functionality, and aesthetics of store facilities, equipment, and fixtures under the direction of the local General Maintenance Manager.

• Maintain and repair facility assets using multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment). Use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders, support stores and associates, and document repair activities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required safety and equipment training.

• 18 years or older
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and move up and down ladders frequently.
• Must be comfortable working at heights frequently.
• Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work in various temperatures.
• Hold a valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record; must pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report.
• Vocational or technical certification and either:
  • 1 year experience, or
  • 2 years total work experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
• Must read and speak English as required by Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.

• Vocational or technical certification and 2 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related field.
• Must hold a valid state‑issued driver’s license and must pass a motor vehicle report.
• Must read and speak English language proficiency mandated by mandatory safety regulations.

• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, or OUI within the last 5 years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two moving violations in the last 3 years.
• Completion of a 2‑year vocational or technical trade program; or issued license in the trade in the jurisdiction of the job.
• No serious traffic violations in the mandatory safety mandatory mandate for driving vehicles.
• Prior experience reading blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Prior experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
• Intermediate-level proficiency using word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

• Hourly wage range: $31.00 – $61.00* (actual rate will equal or exceed the minimum wage applicable to the job location).
