General Summary

The Fitness Manager (FM) is responsible for ensuring a positive customer experience, both personally and through Coach supervision.

FM’s are responsible for delivering great member service and private training & supplement revenue.

As needed, they address member issues, employee relations issues, and oversee scheduling and timekeeping activities.

On a regular basis, they communicate and enforce Company and Club policies and procedures.

FM’s are responsible for the successful attainment of revenue goals pertaining to private training and supplements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Staffing and Development
    • Recruit, hire, train and develop a strong team of coaches and potential leaders.
    • Maintain a fully engaged and high performing Personal Training/MMA team that aligns with company values and goals.
  • Club Administration
    • Ensure coaches are productive, revenue and service goals are communicated, and club remains on track to daily, weekly and monthly financial goals.
    • Set monthly, weekly and daily goals and objectives consistent with those of the company.
    • Conduct monthly, weekly and daily meetings with coaches to review performance, operations, and provide direction, motivation, and guidance.
    • Handle member service matters, including tours of the club, explaining services, signing members up for training agreements, and addressing member issues and complaints promptly.
    • Perform administrative and housekeeping duties; alert operations staff of repairs; conduct daily facility walk‑throughs; maintain compliance checks.
    • Assist in revenue‑generating activities: complimentary workouts, supplement booths, body fat tables, seminars, and workshops.
    • Sell training sessions, conduct prospecting, guest tours, and manage sales turnover process when needed.
    • Achieve monthly revenue objectives for private training and supplements; review daily club sales and employee performance with VP and staff; clarify expectations.
    • Administer company policies related to the sales process and independently schedule/manage client appointments.
    • Coordinate with clients for sessions, meetings, or service visits; maintain up‑to‑date scheduling records; handle appointment setting, follow‑ups, and rescheduling.
Organization Relationships

The Fitness Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Fitness and will communicate and enforce all policy and procedures with the Fitness Team. Duties require interaction with all club members and employees.

Required Qualifications
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities
    • In‑depth knowledge of Personal Training techniques from assessment to program design.
    • Possesses a working knowledge of the DotFIT program and software.
    • Must be able to operate and adjust all fitness equipment.
    • Knowledge of company policies, practices and procedures, including emergency and safety procedures.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; friendly, enthusiastic and positive attitude.
    • Strong customer service focus; responds professionally to guests, members and staff.
    • Understands and follows oral and written instructions; communicates clearly and concisely.
    • Excellent organizational skills; able to prioritize multiple tasks.
    • Computer proficient; basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Required Experience
    • Minimum of one certification from an organization recognized by UFC Gym.
    • Current CPR/AED certification.
    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Four‑year degree in a related field recognized by UFC Gym (preferred).
    • Minimum one year of related experience.
    • Experience in management/employee relations preferred.
  • Physical Requirements
    • Required to stand regularly while performing duties.
    • Physical effort required includes lifting heavy weights, squatting, bending, reaching, spotting, and prolonged standing and walking.
    • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 45+ lbs.
