Practical Nursing Instructor
Dakota County Technical College seeks a temporary, part-time Practical Nursing Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. This temporary, part-time assignment includes teaching PNSG 1600:
Clinical 1 and PSNG 1620:
Clinical 2, and PSNG 1010:
Foundations Lab during the 2026–2027 academic year. The teaching load is anticipated to be 12 credits per term in both the fall and spring semesters. The assignment start date is August 24, 2026. Instruction will be delivered off-site at clinical locations.
Responsibilities:
- Teach Practical Nursing clinicals (Clinical I and Clinical II).
- Instructor is responsible for all activities related to teaching and learning including, but not limited to: instructional planning, curriculum development, student evaluation and records, classroom/climate preparation and management, interpersonal relations, promote safety in all aspects of program activities, participate in professional development experiences, work as an effective team member of the department, maintenance of professional skills and credentials, and participate on college.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education Requirement:
Bachelor's degree in nursing or a graduate degree in support of the field of nursing and/or education with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing if the graduate degree is not in Nursing. - Occupational Experience Requirement:
Two full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience as a registered nurse at the professional level. - Recency Requirement:
One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. - The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
- Professional Requirement:
Current unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse (RN) with current registration in Minnesota. - Other Requirements:
Compliance with clinical affiliate policies for attending on-site clinical teaching assignments.
