Job Summary
The welder position will have expertise in MIG Welding techniques, focusing on the assembly of components, parts, and structures as specified by prints, layouts and/or jigs and fixtures. Hourly rate: $26.50 - $28.88 (based on experience).
Responsibilities- Position parts in jigs or fixtures on bench or floor, or clamp parts together along layout marks.
- Lay out, position, and tack weld work pieces.
- MIG weld along vertical, horizontal, and overhead weld lines.
- Connect regulator valves to oxygen and fuel gas cylinders for cutting torches.
- Turn regulator valves to activate flow of gases, light torch and adjust gas mixture and pressure to obtain desired flame.
- Hold and guide torch at proper angle to cut metal.
- Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
- Scarfs or grooves welds and parts.
- Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or splatter.
- Complete tasks while adhering to production schedules.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and quality standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
- Required MIG welding experience.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and uncomplicated written or oral instructions.
- Basic math and tape measure reading knowledge (preferred).
- Experience in a fast‑paced production environment (preferred).
- Ability to pass all EHS requirements.
- Employee must regularly stand, walk, reach, and stoop.
- Lifting: up to 25 lbs, 50 lbs frequently, up to 90 lbs occasionally.
- Must have distance, up close, peripheral vision and depth perception.
- Environment includes heat, noise, vibration, smoke, dust, fumes, dirt, grease, oil; occasional cramped or confined spaces.
