Job Summary:

McNamara Contracting, a McNamara Company, is seeking a skilled Underground utility pipelayer to join our team. This role is a Utility top laborer, bottom laborer. The primary function of the Pipe Layer is installing underground pipes for utilities such as stormwater, sanitary sewer, water amins, and conduit systems. This role requires strong attention to detail, teamwork and compliance with safety and quality protocols.

This role is required to be in the union and meet all union requirements.

Position Description

Position Description:

• Install, align, and connect various types of pipes according to plans and specifications.
• Use lasers, levels, grade rods, and string lines to establish pipe grade and alignment.
• Prepare trench beds by compacting soil and bedding material to required specifications.
• Seal pipe joints using appropriate methods (gaskets, solvent welding, etc.).
• Direct equipment operators during trenching, back filling, and material placement.
• Inspect pipe for defects before installation and ensure proper handling to prevent damage.
• Follow OSHA regulations, company and industry safety standards and maintain all trench and site safety standards.
• Collaborate with crew members and assist with general labor as needed.
• Complete work to company quality standards.
• Willingness to work in a team environment, assist members of the team.
• Communicate effectively and maintain a professional, respectful attitude at all times.

Position Requirements

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Must understand grade and hand tools.
• Ability to work collectively as a team and independently.
• 1-3 years of experience installing underground utilities preferred.
• Ability to use pipe lasers and leveling tools effectively.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions
