Infrastructure Technician – Data Center & Telecom
- Exhibit a high level of safety and quality on all work, following the Company’s Safety Program and the client’s worksite policies regarding production standards, codes, and best practices.
- Install and decommission critical cabling and network infrastructure in a Data Center environment, including:
- Install, set, and level network cabinets; ground cabinets; and set up backup equipment.
- Label copper and fiber jumpers for installation, pull cables at IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) and BDF (Building Distribution Frame) locations.
- Move materials and receive to staging; pre‑fab open boxes for jacks, face plates, pre‑mark labels, patch panels, and other components.
- Stage, build, and install 2‑post and 4‑post racks.
- Read, comprehend, and adhere to project design drawings, specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and installation standards.
- Document and track all work performed daily, maintaining logs and reports.
- Maintain the work area by organizing materials, tools, and equipment, collecting debris, and addressing hazardous conditions promptly.
- Ability to listen carefully, follow instructions, and work collaboratively as a team player.
- Reliable, punctual, and ready to work with a positive attitude.
- Basic understanding of structured cabling system installation, commissioning, and telecom connectivity; knowledge of safe hand‑tool usage for telecom and construction.
- Ability to work in a fast‑changing environment with a high degree of attention to detail.
- Willingness to work days, nights, and weekends as required.
- Self‑motivated, possess integrity, and an excellent work ethic.
- Reliable source of daily transportation.
- Proficiency with a computer and/or handheld tablet.
- Read, write, and understand English.

- 8" cutting pliers
- 8" needle‑nose pliers
- 9" torpedo level
- 25' tape measure
- 8" adjustable wrench
- Utility knife
- Electrician’s scissors & cable splicer’s knife with pouch
- Socket wrench set (1.5" or 2" "/ 7/16" ", 9/16" ", 1/2" ", 3/4" ", 15/16")
- Open wrench set (1/2" ", 3/4" ", 5/8")
- Cable stripper
- 5‑in‑1 screwdriver or flat/Philips screwdriver set
- Hammer
- Flashlight
- Tool pouch or belt
- Comfortable with Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) work environments.
- Noise level typically moderate.
- Required to sit, use hands, stoop, kneel, reach, and speak or hear regularly.
- Often required to stand for long periods and walk frequently.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working from ladders/lift heights and in tight confined spaces.
- Must be able to work in both high‑ and low‑temperature areas.
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Zero to 5 years of experience.
- OSHA 10 certification preferred; willingness to obtain within 90 days.
- First Aid / CPR certificate preferred or willingness to obtain within 90 days.
- BICSI Technical Certifications preferred.
