As a Railcar Repair Technician, you'll work on freight railcars in the field and at customer sites, gaining valuable experience in welding, fabrication, mechanical repair, and rail operations.

What You'll Be DoingRepair and replace brake systems, couplers, draft gears, valves, air hoses, and mechanical components
Perform welding, cutting, straightening, patching, and steel fabrication repairs
Restore and repair freight car structures including floors, side panels, doors, underframes, piping, and supports
Prepare railcars for painting, clean surfaces, and apply stenciling and markings
Work with hand tools, power tools, hydraulic equipment, and welding equipment
Move and position heavy railcar components safely and efficiently
Assist with rail switching operations and receive training to become a Track mobile Operator and/or Groundman
Follow all company, FRA, AAR, and safety regulations
What We're Looking ForStrong mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
Experience with welding, fabrication, machine operation, automotive repair, heavy equipment, or industrial maintenance preferred
Ability to safely work with tools, equipment, and moving machinery
Dependable work ethic and commitment to safety
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Willingness to learn rail industry procedures and regulations
Previous railroad experience is a plus, but not required

Work EnvironmentThis is an active, hands-on role in both shop and outdoor rail environments. You'll work around railcars, heavy equipment, and industrial machinery while standing, walking, lifting, climbing, and working in varying weather conditions. Proper PPE is provided and required to ensure a safe work environment.

Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Rosemount, MN.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $74880.00/yr. Health Vision Dental 401K PTO Other companies benefits included with package.
Workplace Type This is a fully onsite position in Rosemount,MN.
