JOB DESCRIPTION:

Primary

Purpose:

Assist students in academic achievement by clarifying learning problems and developing study skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Major Responsibilities and Duties

* Provide students with academic support in targeted subject area(s) via individual or group tutoring.

* Assist students with developing study strategies.

* Work with students to develop a tutoring plan that fits the student's individual needs.

* Prepare tutoring sessions to ensure the student's academic development.

* Assess the student's progress throughout tutoring sessions.

* Participate in tutor training and development sessions as instructed.

* Attendance at work is an essential function.

* Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Experience:

* Teaching experience preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum

Education/Certification:

* Bachelor's degree

* Texas teaching certificate

Special Knowledge/

Skills:

* Demonstrate knowledge and competence in the subject matter

* Ability to explain concepts to others effectively

* Effective communication, organization and interpersonal skills

* Exhibit patience and positive attitude in establishing an encouraging learning environment
