Catholic School Classroom Teacher
Holy Rosary Catholic School in Rosenberg, Texas, seeks a responsible, energetic and nurturing individual with teaching experience and a commitment to Catholic education.
Position:
Full‑time contract basis. Pay: depends on education & experience. Work: school days Aug – May with additional training days. School year: 2026–2027.
- Be mature, responsible, energetic and nurturing with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Possess Texas State Teaching Certification.
- Pass a criminal background check clearance.
- Be trained and verified in Safe Haven child‑abuse awareness.
- Be committed to the philosophy of Catholic school and value‑oriented education.
- Have a current Catechist Certificate or be working toward one.
- Be able to handle both face‑to‑face teaching and remote online teaching.
- Develop and administer school curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives.
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small‑group instruction and student learning.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate them into learning experiences to best utilize instructional time.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and modify instructional methods to fit individual students’ needs, including students with special needs; conduct individual and small‑group instruction as needed.
- Instruct students in responsible digital citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the school system.
- Continue to acquire professional knowledge and stay current with developments in education by attending seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or conducting research.
- Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record‑keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and attendance as required by procedures and applicable laws.
- Encourage parental involvement in students’ education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensure that student conduct conforms to the school's standards as outlined in the Student & Faculty Handbooks, and establish and maintain behavior standards needed for a functional learning atmosphere.
- Coordinate with other professional staff members to evaluate and assess curriculum, and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
- Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids, supplies, and equipment and maintain inventory records.
- Administer standardized tests in accordance with testing programs.
- Agree to follow and uphold all COVID protocols set forth by the school's plan.

Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, and the ability to differentiate instruction based on student learning styles.
- Knowledge of school curriculum and concepts.
- Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents in person, electronically, and in writing.
- Ability to engage in self‑evaluation regarding performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others in the course of work.
- Maintain record keeping of student learning and performance.
- Maintain classroom order and behavioral management to ensure safety.
- Oversee students in non‑instructional duties, such as lunch, carpool, etc.
- Assist in morning, lunch, or afternoon duty as assigned.
- Stand for long periods of time
- Walk long distances across campus and within classroom
- Use hands to handle or manipulate teaching tools (technology, textbooks, student work, chalkboard/whiteboard)

- State Certification in the appropriate grade level preferred.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Elementary Education or a related discipline applicable to the teaching assignment.
- Master's Degree in a related area preferred.
- Prior experience will be considered.
FLSA Status:
Exempt (for full‑time professionals).
