Responsibilities
  • Supervises and monitors youth during recreation, movement to and from class, and throughout the campus and during learning activities on and off campus.
  • Ensures safety requirements and expectations.
  • Processes new youth arrivals as needed.
  • Conducts conferences with youths’ parents, site supervisors and the treatment team.
  • Conducts psycho educational groups using a leadership style that promotes youth participation.
  • Attends all staff meetings and conferences as required.
  • Appropriately manages aggressive student behavior, including restraining individuals as needed. Participates in emergency management activities during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
  • Job location could be Arcola or Rosenberg, Texas.
Minimum

Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED.
  • Experience working with at-risk adolescents.
  • One-year job-related experience in a treatment-oriented, behavior modification, or adolescent/juvenile program is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • CPR-First Aid Certification.
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.
  • Eligible to be certified as a Juvenile Supervision Officer.
  • Female applicants only.
Salary

Part-Time, $20.89 per hour, 20-25 hours per week

Background and Disqualification Criteria

For certain positions requiring certification, state standards shall disqualify an applicant if their criminal history reveals:

  • A felony conviction against the laws of this state, another state, or the United States within the past 10 years; a deferred adjudication for a felony within the past 10 years or current felony probation or parole; or
  • A jailable misdemeanor conviction within the past 5 years; a deferred adjudication for a jailable misdemeanor within the past 5 years or current misdemeanor probation or parole.
