Job DescriptionThe Senior Development Officer is responsible for designing and executing strategies to raise funds for scholarships, capital campaigns, and other program needs. The officer seeks out grant and foundation opportunities and manages donor communications and stewardship to ensure ongoing support, engagement, and strong skills in fundraising, strategic planning, relationship management, and nonprofit development. In collaboration with the Director of Development, the Senior Officer is responsible for identifying and cultivating relationships with industry partners and major gift donors, promoting fundraising campaigns, and planning and overseeing events and proposals and continuous fundraising improvement efforts.

- Develop Fundraising Strategies:
Design and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies that align with institutional priorities, drive revenue growth, and expand donor engagement. - Manage Major Donor Relationships:
Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with major donors, industry partners, and key stakeholders to secure significant philanthropic contributions. - Collaborate with Leadership:
Partner with the Director of Development and campus Provost to integrate fundraising initiatives into institutional priorities and maximize leadership engagement in donor cultivation. - Communication:
Collaborate with Foundation staff and the local campus external relations team to coordinate and increase awareness and campus special events, ensuring they align with organizational goals and maximize revenue. - Draft Proposals and Manage In-Kind Donations:
Develop compelling proposals, grant applications, and sponsorship requests to secure financial support, while soliciting and managing in-kind donations to meet institutional needs. - Monitor and Evaluate Performance:
Track, analyze, and report on campus fundraising performance, donor engagement metrics, and campaign effectiveness to inform strategic decision-making and enhance results. - Develop Donor Communications:
Create and implement targeted donor communication strategies, including personalized outreach, impact reports, and recognition programs, to foster long-term relationships. - Stay Informed:
Engage with the community at advisory board meetings, industry events, and community engagements to expand networks, enhance visibility, and strengthen external partnerships. - Foster Corporate and Foundation Partnerships:
Cultivate and maintain relationships with corporate sponsors and foundations to secure funding, workforce training collaborations, and philanthropic investments.
- Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience will be considered.
- Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential preferred.
- 4 years required experience in fundraising, sales, or community engagement in identifying and cultivating individual donors, corporations, and foundations. 4 years preferred.
- 4 years of required experience with personalized communication, stewardship, creating proposals, and engaging with donors through meetings and events.
- 3 years required experience in successfully managing a portfolio including donors, corporations, and foundations; 4 years preferred.
- Relationship Building:
Proven track record in establishing and nurturing relationships with key stakeholders to advance organizational goals. - External Relations:
Foster and strengthen relationships with external stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, business partners, and nonprofit organizations statewide. Represent the organization in meetings, events, and community initiatives to enhance its visibility and reputation. - Sales Goal Oriented:
Demonstrates a results-driven approach to sales, setting and exceeding ambitious targets through strategic planning, effective negotiation, and a customer-centric focus to build lasting relationships and foster repeat business. - Industry Relations:
Develop and implement strategies to enhance engagement and collaboration with Texas Industry. Proactively seek opportunities to connect the organization with industry initiatives and establish partnerships that align with its mission and goals. - Self-Motivated:
