Position: Administrative Assistant (The Shop)

Design Shop Interiors (DSI) is looking for an experienced Administrative Assistant to join our Retail Team at The Shop.

DSI is a fun, collaborative and fast paced environment located in Granite Bay, CA., managing projects that span throughout Northern California and beyond. You would be joining a talented group who pride themselves in their work, but don’t take themselves too seriously – we laugh with and at each other, checking all egos at the door. DSI is about great design without pretentiousness.

We are seeking a highly organized, proactive, and reliable Assistant to provide administrative support and handle various tasks related to the smooth operations of The Shop retail team. The ideal candidate will be flexible, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. A candidate with strong time-management skills and the ability to move fast and think quickly is essential.

The Shop team moves fast and you will need to keep up!

Job Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Personal Assistant, Executive Assistant, or in a related administrative role.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proficiency in Mac, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and relevant tools.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage tasks independently, multitask, and resolve issues efficiently.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Assist the retail team by organizing materials, meeting rooms, and supplies for client or team meetings.
  • Prepare order status reports for clients and team members.
  • Place product orders with manufacturers.
  • File product damage claims and manage the repair/replacement process.
  • Respond to unexpected challenges and manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously.
  • Maintain and organize a library of design catalogs, sample boards, and material swatches.
  • Organize office supplies, equipment, and materials for the team and office space.
The ideal candidate will be/have:
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in tasks such as data entry, document preparation, and project coordination.
  • A positive attitude and professional, friendly demeanor—confidence is key!
  • A motivated self-starter, able to work independently and take initiative on tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members.
  • A team player, open-minded, and always happy to help.
  • Fast learner and with the ability to handle a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment.
  • A strong work ethic with a commitment to going the extra mile.
  • A sense of humor—you’ll need it with this group!
