Job Description
Barry-Wehmiller Design Group invites students pursuing construction management, civil engineering, or related degrees to apply for summer internships (10‑12 weeks) or 6‑month co‑ops beginning in January 2026 or June 2026. Applicants are considered for the option that best aligns with their academic schedule.
What You’ll Do- Support construction leaders and project managers with day‑to‑day project execution.
- Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including schedules, budgets, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
- Participate in site walks, field coordination meetings, and contractor evaluations.
- Help track project progress and ensure construction activities align with design intent, safety standards, and client expectations.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams including architects, engineers, vendors, and contractors.
- Gain experience in project management tools and software used to plan, execute, and monitor large‑scale projects.
- Learn to identify and communicate potential risks, issues, or opportunities in the field.
- Support procurement, installation, and start‑up activities under senior guidance.
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- A strong desire to learn and grow in the construction industry.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment.
- Willingness to travel and spend time on‑site at project locations.
- Approximate pay range: $25‑$30 per hour.
- Exposure to the full project lifecycle and complex industrial construction projects across the United States.
