The Field Foreman is a hands-on, labor-intensive position responsible for supporting daily jobsite operations through site maintenance, safety enforcement, and general construction support activities. This role works directly under the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendents to ensure the jobsite remains clean, safe, organized, and compliant with all safety and environmental standards.

This is a working position requiring daily manual labor and a strong presence in the field. The Field Foreman role serves as an entry point into field leadership, with growth potential into an Assistant Superintendent position for high-performing individuals.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Field Support & Site Maintenance

  • Perform daily jobsite cleanup including removal of construction debris, trash, and hazardous materials.
  • Maintain overall site organization to support efficient workflow and trade productivity.
  • Assist with material handling, staging, and general labor tasks as directed by site leadership.
  • Support jobsite logistics including fencing, signage, access control, and laydown areas.
  • Ensure common areas, walkways, and work zones are kept clean and safe at all times.

Safety & Compliance

  • Actively monitor the jobsite for unsafe conditions and report hazards immediately to the Superintendent.
  • Support enforcement of company safety policies and OSHA/Cal OSHA standards.
  • Assist in maintaining SWPPP compliance, including BMP installation, maintenance, and documentation.
  • Participate in daily safety activities such as site walks, safety checklists, and toolbox talks.
  • Help ensure proper use of PPE and safe work practices across all trades on site.

Equipment Operation & Training

  • Operate forklifts and telehandlers to assist with material movement and jobsite logistics, as needed.
  • Maintain safe operating practices and perform daily equipment inspections prior to use.
  • Participate in company-provided training and certification programs for forklift and telehandler operation (training provided if not already certified).
  • Support loading, unloading, and distribution of materials across the jobsite.

Field Coordination & Oversight Support

  • Maintain a visible presence on site and assist with daily jobsite walks.
  • Support Superintendents in identifying workflow issues, trade stacking, or site conflicts.
  • Assist with coordinating deliveries, material staging, and site access.
  • Help monitor subcontractor work areas for cleanliness, safety, and general compliance.

Communication & Reporting

  • Provide regular updates to the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent regarding site conditions.
  • Report safety concerns, maintenance needs, and observed issues in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with subcontractors and field personnel to reinforce site expectations.

Construction Support

  • Assist with general construction activities across all phases of the project as needed.
  • Support punch list activities, including identifying, tracking, and correcting minor items.
  • Perform miscellaneous tasks to help maintain project schedule and site readiness.

  • Participate in company-provided training, including OSHA certifications and safety programs.
  • Develop foundational knowledge of construction operations, safety, and field coordination.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education & Experience:

    High school diploma or equivalent required; prior construction or labor experience preferred but not required.
  • Certifications:

    OSHA 10 or 30 preferred (training will be provided if not already certified). SWPPP knowledge is a plus.
  • Physical Requirements:

    Must be able to lift 60+ pounds, walk long distances, climb, bend, kneel, and work in various weather conditions. This role is approximately 95% field work.
  • Other:
    Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn. Ability to follow direction and work effectively in a team environment. Must comply with all company safety policies.

Compensation:
Starting at $33.00 per hour, depending on experience
