Paving Superintendent - Heavy Civil Construction

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paving Superintendent to oversee our heavy civil construction projects. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful execution of paving operations, maintaining quality standards, and managing project timelines effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in AC (asphalt concrete) paving for parking lots, with a focus on delivering projects on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise all paving operations on site, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project timelines are met.
  • Review project plans and specifications to develop a comprehensive understanding of project requirements.
  • Oversee the scheduling and allocation of resources, including labor and equipment, for paving activities.
  • Conduct regular inspections of ongoing work to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulations.
  • Provide training and guidance to crew members on best practices in paving and safety procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders to address any concerns or changes in project scope.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Paving Superintendent or similar role in heavy civil construction.
  • Strong knowledge of asphalt and concrete paving techniques and materials.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in construction.
  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred, but not required.
