Architectural Drafter

GVD Renovations & Remodeling designs and builds decks, additions, and full-home remodels across the greater Sacramento area. We're looking for an Architectural Drafter to turn our project concepts into clean, buildable plans — from deck layouts and framing details to remodel drawings that move smoothly through plan check. We're flexible on the arrangement and welcome contractors, freelancers, and part-time candidates; on-site, hybrid, or remote can all work.

• Decking and outdoor-living plans, including framing and structural details.
• Kitchen, bathroom, and whole-home remodel drawings.
• Room additions and ADU construction documents.
• Permit sets prepared for submission to local building departments.

• Draft construction documents in Revit from designer notes, field measurements, and sketches.
• Produce plan sets that meet California building codes and city requirements.
• Turn around building-department corrections quickly and cleanly.
• Coordinate with project managers and designers to keep jobs moving.
• Handle several projects at once without letting the details slip.

• Hands-on Revit experience (roughly 1-2 years or more).
• A background drafting residential remodels; deck and structural work is a strong plus.
• Comfort reading and responding to plan-check corrections.
• A solid grasp of how a complete construction document set comes together.
• Dependable communication and the discipline to hit deadlines independently.

• Experience preparing permit-ready sets for California jurisdictions.
• Familiarity with local deck, addition, and ADU requirements.
• Comfort working independently with light oversight.
