About Roseville Community School

Roseville Community School is a small, progressive learning center supporting homeschooling families through a child-centered, play-based, and inquiry-driven approach to education. We serve students in Kindergarten through 6th grade in mixed-age classrooms with small class sizes (12–14 students). Our educators nurture confident, curious, and compassionate learners through personalized learning experiences, strong relationships, and deep integration of social-emotional growth with academic learning.

We teach the whole child—socially, emotionally, and academically—and are guided by values of inclusion, autonomy, creativity, and community connection.

Position Overview

We’re hiring a full-time Elementary Teacher (grades K–6, depending on experience and placement) who is passionate about progressive education and committed to project-based, student-centered learning. The ideal candidate brings curiosity, creativity, and care to the classroom, with a strong foundation in child development, social-emotional learning, and interdisciplinary instruction.

  • Communicate regularly with families through updates, conferences, and collaborative dialogue
  • Collaborate with colleagues to co-create interdisciplinary themes and school-wide learning experiences
  • Participate in staff meetings, reflection, and ongoing professional development
  • Support school events, enrichment offerings, and community initiatives as part of the faculty team
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children in a classroom or learning community
  • Understanding of child development and inclusive, responsive teaching practices
  • Familiarity with progressive education (e.g., Dewey, Alfie Kohn, Reggio Emilia, Bev Bos)
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and time-management skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • California teaching credential or equivalent
  • 2+ years of lead teaching experience
  • Experience with project-based learning and authentic assessment
  • Background in SEL frameworks such as Conscious Discipline, Responsive Classroom, or Toolbox
  • Comfort working in a mixed-age classroom or learning center setting
