Learning Developer

Mechanics Bank is currently searching for a Learning Experience Developer to join our team. Here at Mechanics Bank, we value connection, partnership, long term relationships and working together in person. This role will be working on-site.

• Develops interactive eLearning courses using adult learning principles and instructional design best practices. Incorporate multimedia elements as appropriate to enhance learner engagement.
• Under administrative direction, designs learning solutions to support performance needs.
• Develops learning materials including microlearnings, video demonstrations, reference tools, job aids, quick reference guides, electronic performance support (i.e. Walk Me), and level II-III evaluation instruments as indicated by the overall learning solution.
• Develops instructor‑led training content including facilitator guides, participant guides, training decks, and learning activities.
• Collaborates with other Developers and Instructional Designers in creation of comprehensive curriculums including prerequisites, scaffolding of learning, multi‑modal delivery, adaptive learning paths, and certificate logic.
• Develops compliance eLearnings, meeting legal and regulatory requirements.
• Develops required eLearnings regarding Human Resources policy administration and corporate decisions affecting bank culture and mission.
• Facilitates pilot of instructor‑led developed content, and/or trains‑the‑trainer to facilitate developed content.
• Develops storyboards, scripts, and course prototypes.
• Under administrative direction, constructs feedback instruments to evaluate training results and measure success.

• Regularly reviews and maintains training materials to keep them current.
• Works with team in evaluating training effectiveness using learner feedback, assessments, and performance data.
• Assists with reviewing vendor developed content with digital learning deliverables are outsourced.
• Updates and improves learning deliverables based on formative and summative evaluations and other performance data.
• Administrative & Cross‑Functional Tasks
• Upon request, runs completion and other necessary reports on learnings from Workday in response to Audit, Legal, or Business Line requests.
• Works with L&D team in the creation and administration of learning campaigns for the assignment of bank wide annual mandatory training.
• Supports delivery of employee onboarding virtual orientation classes.
• Acts as one of the facilitators of VILT learning deliverables of developed learning solutions.
• Performs all other duties as assigned by direct supervisor or Head of Learning & Development.

• Partners with subject matter experts from all business lines of the company (e.g. Retail, Lending, Operations, Information Security) to translate complex content into digestible learning experiences and ensure developed materials are applicable and relevant.
• Works with Audit, Compliance, and Legal to ensure developed materials meet required compliance, regulatory, and legal standards.
• May participate as a member of project teams and attend regular meetings to support new product introduction, process, and technology innovation to ensure training programs are developed and ongoing resources are in place for employees.

• Implements and maintains learning content in LMS (Workday Learning).
• Works with system administrator on implementation of new technology and integration with Workday Learning.
• Travel Required 0-10 %.

• 4 Year Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Design or Technology, Education Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, Human Performance Technology/Improvement, or equivalent required.
