We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced characterization engineer for our silicon carbide power semiconductor team. As a characterization engineer, you will play a critical role in developing innovative high voltage greater than 1 kV power semiconductor components (SiC Power
MOSFET) for use in automotive electronics, working under tight timing with demanding customers in the automotive market. You will operate in a simultaneous engineering (SE) team for energy-efficient components for battery-based or fuel cell-based drives. You will understand the functional and switching properties of power semiconductor devices and the measurement technology used. Based on your knowledge of high-performance SiC power semiconductor devices, you will perform characterization measurements, create test reports, and report in the SE team.
You will be responsible for the correctness and accuracy of lab measurements as well as scaling of the lab as we grow in this fast-paced market.
- Characterization measurements (I–V characteristics, double pulse test, short circuit, etc.) of silicon carbide power MOSFETs.
- Planning and execution of HV lab activities within an international team.
- Scaling of lab facility including release of new measurement equipment according to Bosch requirements for the automotive market.
- Close coordination with the project manager and application expert in the product areas to consider costs, deadlines and quality, and to assess project risks regarding technical feasibility and effort of change requests.
- Selection of the measurement technique and/or assessment of suitability.
- Participation in project reviews to present technical content.
- Completed university studies (Bachelor, Master or equivalent) in electrical engineering, physics, or the equivalent in education.
- Minimum of 2 years relevant work experience in the field of semiconductor device testing.
- Sound knowledge of power semiconductor devices (MOSFETs) as well as characterization methods and measurement techniques thereof.
- Experience in using common lab equipment (oscilloscope, probes, power supplies, etc.) and software (MATLAB, LabVIEW, etc.).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Collaborative team player with an entrepreneurial mindset who can coordinate across international departments.
- Knowledge of power semiconductor manufacturing processes desirable
- Knowledge of PCB design or Altium Designer desirable
- Travel (including internationally) as needed
- This role will work on site in Roseville, CA.
- This position works Monday–Friday, with additional hours as necessary.
- Indefinite US work authorization for eligible individuals. Future sponsorship for work authorization unavailable.

The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position is $90,000–$110,000. Individual pay is determined based on factors including experience and job knowledge. Your recruiter can share more details during the interview process.
