Grow your career by joining the City of Roseville Environmental Utilities in the role of Environmental Compliance Specialist I/II!
Support water quality and compliance across the Environmental Utilities Department (EUD) as an Environmental Compliance Specialist
. In this role, you will help EUD achieve regulatory goals by ensuring adherence to the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) permits and water compliance standards. Your work will include inspections, sampling and analysis across EUD divisions along with reporting and collaboration to implement best practices that maintain compliance. If you are passionate about safeguarding water resources and driving compliance, this role offers hands‑on experience and an opportunity to make a measurable impact on community health and environmental stewardship.
The normal work schedule is Monday through Friday. Hybrid or flex schedule may be an option.

Minimum QualificationsExperience and Training
Environmental Compliance Specialist IExperience

No experience is required.
Training
:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science or a closely related field.
License or Certificate
:
Possession of a valid California driver’s license by date of appointment.
Environmental Compliance Specialist IIIn addition to the qualifications for the Environmental Compliance Specialist I:
Experience
:
Two years of regulatory compliance enforcement including sample collection and analysis experience similar to an Environmental Compliance Specialist I with the City of Roseville.
Training
:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science or a closely related field.
License or Certificate
:
Possession of a valid California driver’s license by date of appointment.
Possession of a valid Stormwater Environmental Compliance Inspector Certificate within 18 months of appointment.
