Overview

Responsible for leading and developing a team of engineers to meet productivity targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Provides engineering guidance and expertise to an engineering team composed of Component Designers, Engineering Interns, and possibly Professional Engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Effective leadership of an engineering team.
  • Mentor team members and promote their professional growth.
  • Discuss projects with other supervisors or engineers for compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Review customer and Product Management Team specified parameters for building components.
  • Create and review parameters against engineering standards.
  • Discuss design modifications and review appropriate design methodologies with customers and Product Management Team.
  • Assist customers and Product Management Team in troubleshooting issues and design problems.
  • Resolve customer and Product Management Team complaints.
  • Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
  • Assist assigned customers to engineers and manage workload among engineers.
  • Answer technical questions from customers and employees.
  • Support development of procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
  • Guide, coach, and provide constructive feedback for professional development.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive work environment that encourages collaboration and respects diverse perspectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering required.
  • 4+ years of related engineering experience.
  • Experience leading projects or initiatives.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education that clearly indicates the ability to perform the essential functions of the position may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer – any state board preferred.

  • Good understanding of statics and strength of materials.
  • Accuracy – Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly.
  • Active listening – Ability to actively attend to, convey, and understand the comments and questions of others.
  • Solid engineering/technical skills, including attention to detail.
  • Outstanding safety record and compliance with safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; monitor own work to ensure quality.
  • Meet productivity standards without diminishing quality; seek ways to improve.
  • Dependability – take responsibility for own action; follow instructions.
  • Initiative – read­ly volunteers, undertakes self‑development, seeks increased responsibilities, and offers assistance when needed.
  • Attend during regular work hours and overtime as required.
  • Interacting professionally with others, including co‑workers, vendors, and customers.
Additional Requirements
  • 5% of time traveling as needed.
Physical Demands

This role is performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone, and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role.
