GENERAL JOB SUMMARY
Working with the design authority for assigned project(s), the Project Engineer supports the development and maintenance of the technical plan from project kick‑off through contract closure. The role tracks execution of the technical scope, maintains cost and schedule goals, and facilitates coordination of cross‑functional engineering teams at KUAS.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Support program management and design authority with program planning strategies, technical cost estimates, risk management, logistics, data preparation, status updates, and presentation preparation.
- Assist in assessing customer requirements and planning technical solutions, integrating requirements into the project plan.
- Prepare estimates, review schedules, and coordinate with IPT leads and program management office.
- Understand technical contractual requirements and allocation across the engineering team.
- Maintain awareness of SDL/SDRL items and other contract deliverables.
- Manage planning and work packages: initiate, create, authorize, review, distribute, and report status.
- Manage technical execution per design authority, communicate problem resolution across the engineering team.
- Coordinate team logistics, resource requirements, and documentation releases.
- Communicate program impediments or delays to stakeholders.
- Monitor and report technical status and task accomplishments.
- Provide guidance to engineering team and report to lead engineer.
- Gather and maintain status of technical scope and execution of major project divisions.
- Integrate customer and subcontractor requirements with the project plan to ensure overall success.
- Act as project coordinator across functions, maintaining status reporting.
- Interface with project engineers, design authorities, and functional management.
- Coordinate with supply chain management for customers and subcontractors as needed.
- Implement company engineering processes, comply with processes, and provide feedback for improvements.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Achieve results through guidance and direction from lead or senior project engineer.
Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESRequired
- Basic project management skills with resource estimation and scheduling.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products, including MS Project.
- Demonstrated leadership in managing tasks and resources for a single project.
- Basic understanding of engineering fundamentals and best practices.
- Presentation preparation and delivery skills for subcontractors, customers, and government.
- Strong communication and relationship skills with program leadership, engineering leadership, customers, and team members.
- Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards.
- Effective interaction with peers, supervisors, and the public.
- Adherence to workplace rules and flexibility in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of military operations.
- Technical knowledge of unmanned aircraft systems and related support systems.
- Engineering management experience in aerospace or aviation.
- Experience leading multiple projects or complex program elements.
- Cross‑functional collaboration to meet departmental goals.
- Knowledge of ISO, EVMS, and export regulation compliance.
- Finance, accounting, and earned value management knowledge.
- Ability to travel on short notice.
- Experience with earned value reporting and control account management.
- Knowledge of company operations and procedures.
- Security clearance.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in an applicable engineering, technical, or science discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering, systems, integration, test, software, or engineering project leadership (or 3 years with a master’s degree) preferably in aerospace or aviation.
- May need to obtain/maintain a U.S. security clearance (U.S. citizenship required).
