Job Responsibilities & Requirements

Responsible for leading and developing a team of engineers to meet productivity targets while maintaining the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Provides engineering guidance and expertise to an engineering team composed of Component Designers, Engineering Interns, and possibly Professional Engineers.

Responsibilities
  • Effective leadership of an engineering team.
  • Mentor team members and promote their professional growth.
  • Discuss projects with other Supervisors or Engineers for compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Review customer and/ or Product Management Team’s specified parameters for building components.
  • Create and review parameters against engineering standards.
  • Discuss design modifications and review appropriate design methodologies with customers and/ or Product Management Team.
  • Assist customers and/ or Product Management Team in troubleshooting issues and design problems.
  • Resolve customer and/ or Product Management Team complaints.
  • Maintain harmony among workers and resolve grievances.
  • Help assigned customers to engineers and manage workload among engineers.
  • Answer technical questions from customers and employees.
  • Support development of procedures and methods to ensure quality standards are met and maintained.
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Professional development of team members, guiding, coaching, and providing constructive feedback to help them reach their full potential.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive work environment that encourages collaboration and respect for diverse perspectives.
  • Empower team members to excel in their roles.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
  • 4+ Years of related engineering experience required.
  • Experience leading projects and/or initiatives required.
  • Equivalent combination of experience and education may substitute on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer – any State Board preferred.

  • Technical skills – solid engineering/technical skills, including attention to detail.

  • Quantity – meet productivity standards without compromising quality of work, strive to increase productivity, keep waste down, and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Dependability – take responsibility for own actions, follow instructions, and respond to management directions.
  • Initiative – readily volunteer, undertake self‑development activities, seek increased responsibilities, take independent action, and ask for and offer assistance whenever needed.
  • Attendance during regular work hours and overtime as required.
  • Ability to interact professionally with others, including co‑workers, vendors, and customers.
Additional Requirements
  • 5% of time traveling as needed.

This role is performed in an office environment where a computer, telephone, and other office equipment are used as needed to perform the duties of the role.
