What You Will Do
GFT is seeking a Resident Engineer to join our Construction Services team in the Dublin, San Francisco, Stockton, San Jose, Roseville, or Concord area. We are committed to excellence, safety, innovation, and sustainability in construction and program management, overseeing every phase to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the highest safety and quality standards.
ResponsibilitiesAct as Owner Agent with little or no supervision to provide construction management and inspection services for a wide variety of transportation and transit facilities. Perform duties that may not be clearly defined and require the development of construction documents, procedures, and criteria, while overseeing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Conduct and document project meetings with clients.
- Manage construction field personnel, including teaming partners.
- Negotiate and approve construction change orders.
- Respond to RFIs.
- Prepare proposals and presentations.
- Monitor project schedules and budgets.
- Prepare and issue reports and correspondence.
- Approve quantities for measurement and payment purposes.
- Approve construction payment applications.
- Resolve technical issues.
- Perform constructability reviews and value engineering studies.
- Lead Risk Management assessments.
- Prepare and monitor Quality Control and Assurance Plans.
- Develop Standard Operating Procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management; CCM certification preferred.
- Experience with Primavera P6 preferred.
- 10‑hour OSHA Safety course preferred.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
Salary range: $200,000 – $250,000, dependent on experience and geographic location.
