principal engineer – environmental utilities department
lead, organize, and direct engineering activities within the wastewater utility division. Provide engineering and oversight support on a variety of wastewater and recycled water system operations, projects, and personnel. Manage projects involving planning, design, procurement, and construction for capacity expansion and rehabilitation of wastewater treatment facilities, collection systems, pump stations, and recycled water distribution systems, pump stations, and storage. Enhance the operation, efficiency, reliability, and security of the city’s wastewater and recycled water systems.
responsibilities- lead and direct engineering projects and personnel within the wastewater utility division.
- provide engineering oversight and support on wastewater and recycled water system operations and projects.
- plan, design, procure, and construct capacity expansion and rehabilitation projects for treatment facilities, collection systems, pump stations, and recycled water distribution systems.
- improve operation, efficiency, reliability, and security of the city’s wastewater and recycled water systems.
- minimum of four years of increasingly responsible experience in professional civil, environmental, or traffic engineering, including at least two years of supervisory responsibility.
- bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with major coursework in civil, environmental, or traffic engineering or a closely related field.
- california driver’s license by date of appointment.
- current certificate of registration as a professional civil engineer or professional traffic engineer in california by date of application.
- monthly salary: $11,263.15 – $15,093.66

normal work schedule: monday through friday, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.; a flex schedule may be available. Candidates may be eligible for a hybrid work schedule with supervisor approval and must be able to report to the city of roseville worksites when required. The position is regular, full-time and benefitted.
