Engineer, Systems Engineer

Akkodis is seeking an Engineer for a Contract with a client in Roseville, CA
. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Cisco/Palo Alto technologies to design secure networks and troubleshoot advanced issues while supporting cloud and CI/CD-driven environments.

Rate Range: $55/hour to $60/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

• Design, install, and optimize enterprise network infrastructure across LAN/WAN, data center, and wireless (Cisco Catalyst 9k, Nexus 93k, WLC 9800).
• Configure and manage routing/switching (OSPF, BGP, ISIS; VLAN, STP, VTP) and implement security controls using Palo Alto firewalls (ACLs, NAT, IPSEC/Global Protect VPNs).
• Administer DNS (internal/external), load balancers, and out-of-band networks; ensure high availability, redundancy, and resilient connectivity.
• Build and maintain monitoring/observability using Solar Winds, Prometheus/Grafana/ELK; perform proactive capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Automate deployments and network changes via CI/CD (Jenkins/Git Hub), infrastructure as code, and scripting (Shell/Python/Groovy); support cloud networking and connectivity.
• Lead testing/validation of network hardware/OS, execute incident response and root-cause analysis, and document standards, runbooks, and network diagrams.

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 10+ years of hands‑on experience in network infrastructure design, installation, and support.
• Strong expertise in routing, switching, and security technologies including Cisco R&S, Palo Alto firewalls, DNS, load balancers, and advanced troubleshooting.
• Proven experience with cloud networking, CI/CD environments, infrastructure automation, and modern monitoring tools (Solar Winds, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).

Pay Details: $55.00 to $60.00 per hour
