Job Overview
The City of Roseville is seeking a skilled and collaborative Database Analyst to join our team and support the critical data systems that help deliver essential public services to our community. In this role, you will manage, optimize, and protect agency data while partnering with departments across the organization to improve reporting, enhance system performance, and support informed decision‑making.

The candidate hired will work a schedule of up to 1500 hours per fiscal year. CalPERS retired annuitants are not eligible to apply.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICSDatabase Analyst I – entry level class. Employees at this level are not expected to perform with the same independence of direction and judgment on matters allocated to the journey level. This class is typically used as a training class; employees may have limited or no directly related work experience and work under general supervision while learning job tasks.
Database Analyst II – journey level class. Employees at this level receive only occasional instruction or assistance as new, unusual or unique situations arise and are fully aware of the operating procedures and policies within the work unit. Positions in this class are flexibly staffed and are normally filled by advancement from the I level.
Qualifications Database Analyst I- No professional experience is required.
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably with major coursework in computer science, information systems, GIS or a related field.
- Possession of a valid California driver’s license by date of appointment.
- Two years of responsible experience performing duties similar to that of a Database Analyst I, within the respective assignment, with the City of Roseville.
