Summary
The Freight Coordinator position’s primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement, “to create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” The role also includes operational tasks such as receiving and unpacking daily shipments, shipping merchandise, backroom maintenance, and routine cleaning.
Pay range
: $16.90‑$18/hr the estimated range is the budgeted amount for this position; final offers depend on skill set, experience, location, qualifications, and other factors.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSales Generation and Guest Service
- Compare & verify merchandise invoices with received items.
- Process alterations, layaways, and special orders for delivery to guests (e.g., Fed Ex).
- Validate freight packing slips and transfer slips for accuracy.
- Confirm all transfers are processed through the register and match shipping records.
- Prepare and package items for shipping to guests or other stores, ensuring proper presentation.
- Remove pins and plastic from merchandise before shipment.
- Affix Sensormatic tags in designated locations.
- Hang, fold, and steam merchandise for the sales floor as needed.
- Assist with floor projects when required.
Operations
- Work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and key holidays.
- Maintain knowledge of POS software.
- Process freight boxes and store transfers through the register.
- Report mail discrepancies and file non‑errors for 30 days.
- Maintain all shipment‑related paperwork.
- Identify and respond to security risks and theft.
- Create Fed Ex labels and sort packages by transit type.
- Send out recalls and Return to Vendor (RTV) items weekly.
- Keep supplies stocked and organized.
- Organize fixtures, shelving, and the work area to maintain cleanliness and efficiency.
- Maintain daily work files in order.
- Communicate policy violations confidentially to management or HR.
- Provide merchandise handling feedback to Store Manager and Floor Leaders.
- Apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics, policies, and procedures.
- Deliver on the mission statement with high customer service and teamwork.
- Perform special projects and other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Education and ExperienceNo prior experience or specialized training required.
Additional RequirementsMust be 18 years of age or older.
Physical DemandsThe role requires frequent standing, walking, handling and reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a moderate noise environment. Physical ability to perform these tasks is essential.
