Lumos & Associates, a leader in civil engineering, is opening a brand‑new office in Roseville, California. We are looking for a Group Manager to lead and grow our Civil Engineering practice in the Sacramento‑area.

The Group Manager will lead and expand the Engineering Division across our geographic service regions, developing client relationships, identifying business opportunities, managing projects, and mentoring a multidisciplinary team.

- Provide leadership in new business development and promote repeat/referral business.
- Formulate and recommend engineering policies and programs to improve competitive position.
- Act as liaison between division management and staff at all levels.
- Establish professional relationships with stakeholders, including clients and government agencies.
- Manage group backlog and identify staffing needs.
- Delegate work and distribute project load for efficient operation and work/life balance.
- Review and approve fee proposals and scopes of work.
- Oversee delivery of high‑quality projects and services.
- Prepare and present projects to local authorities (planning board, city council, etc.).
- Communicate business strategy and key results to operations staff.
- Mentor and coach staff, support career development, and promote positive employee relations.
- Participate in staff selection, recruitment, hiring, and training.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.
- 10+ years in civil engineering consulting/project management.
- Experience managing civil engineering teams (supervision, training, coaching, hiring, termination).
- Registered Professional Engineer in California.
- Expertise in new business development and client proposals.
- Project management experience, prefer municipal infrastructure/public works.
- Computer proficiency; advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Team player able to lead strategy with persistent execution.
- Self‑starter who drives initiatives to grow the business in a fast‑paced environment.
- Results‑oriented track record with excellent time/project management and cost/benefit analysis.
- Experience building trust, empowering teams, and fostering cross‑functional cooperation.
- Valid driver’s license with no more than three demerit points.
The compensation range reflects the company’s reasonable expectation at the time of posting. Several factors influence individual compensation decisions.
California salary pay range:
$160,000 – $220,000 USD
