Dexian is partnering with one of the best growing California banks to find an authoritative and highly analytical VP, Deposit & Payment Risk Manager to lead their Roseville‑based team.
In this senior leadership role, you will be the ultimate line of defense against financial loss. You will oversee the prevention, detection, investigation, and remediation of high‑risk account activity in a rapidly evolving threat landscape. You will not only manage a dedicated team of risk specialists but also spearhead the optimization of loss‑monitoring technologies to drastically reduce overall risk exposure.

What You Will DoAs the VP, Deposit & Payment Risk Manager, you will take total ownership of the bank's deposit risk strategy, leading both people and advanced technology platforms.
Strategic Leadership & Team Management- Lead the Charge: Direct the day‑to‑day operations of the Deposit & Payment Risk Team, ensuring all system alerts are reviewed accurately and within strict Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Develop Talent: Motivate, mentor, and build a high‑performance culture among your team of Risk Specialists.
- Drive Process Improvement: Continuously identify and implement operational efficiencies and advanced loss mitigation tools.
- Investigate: Oversee and conduct complex investigations into digital banking transactions, account takeovers, customer scams, and money mule activity.
- Escalation Management: Review escalated account alerts, determining critical next steps and executing swift remediation.
- Root Cause Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify the root causes of questionable account activity and proactively close security gaps.
- Optimize Systems: Work closely with internal IT partners and external vendors to validate, tune, and improve all loss‑monitoring technologies and risk warning applications.
- Collaborate: Partner seamlessly with Compliance, Fraud, BSA/AML, and other business units to ensure coordinated, rapid responses to suspected high‑risk transactions.
- Subject Matter Expert: Serve as the bank's ultimate authority on state and federal regulations pertaining to deposit and payment loss, staying ahead of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
- A Proven Leader: You have a track record of building, motivating, and managing high‑performing risk teams in a fast‑paced financial services environment.
- An Analytical Problem‑Solver: You possess strong independent judgment and the ability to dissect complex fraud schemes with minimal supervision.
- A Communicator: You can effectively translate complex risk findings to stakeholders, raising organizational awareness while maintaining a client‑first approach during sensitive remediation processes.

Experience:
7+ years of progressive experience within the banking industry. - Risk/Fraud
Experience:
5+ years of dedicated experience in fraud, risk management, or loss mitigation (in an operational or oversight capacity). - Work Style: Self‑starter with impeccable attention to detail and the ability to multi‑task in a high‑volume environment.
- Location: Must be able to work full‑time on‑site in Roseville, CA.
