American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for a Case Management/Utilization Review role requiring an active CA RN license and 2 years of relevant experience.
Requirements
- Active CA RN license required
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school; BSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent relevant case management experience required
- Broad knowledge of healthcare delivery and case management within a managed care environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of Utilization Review, levels of care, and observation status
- Familiarity with healthcare reimbursement systems (HMO, PPO, PPS, CMS, value-based models) preferred
- Working knowledge of case management regulations including CMS, Title 22, CHA Consent Manual, CDPH, and TJC
- Understanding of post-acute levels of care and related regulatory compliance
- General understanding of coding and DRG assignment process preferred
- Strong verbal, written, and negotiation communication skills
- Excellent time management skills for high-volume, fast-paced environments
- Intermediate computer and technology skills
- Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration
Responsibilities
- Case Management department setting within an integrated delivery system
- Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Monday through Friday schedule with no weekends and no call requirement
- Coordinate patient care and promote collaboration among physicians, nurses, patients, families, and ancillary partners
- Exercise independent judgment and sound decision-making with physicians, payers, and patients
- Promote quality patient care and a positive patient experience
- Function effectively within a team-based care model
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius for local rate consideration
- Returning employees must have a 1-year separation before returning as a traveler
- Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, with only 1 holiday request approved per contract
- Observed holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day
- Must be available for lab work within 3-5 days of contract signing
- 7-year work history verification required for all candidates
