Environmental Technician

Your Opportunity

Stantec is seeking an Environmental Scientist/Technician who is detail-oriented with strong analytical skills and communication ability to provide field sampling services and back‑up coordination and data management support to our Environmental Services practice.

• Capture soil, water, and construction‑related debris samples for characterization and waste profiling.
• Operate field instrumentation such as NORM meter, XRF analyzer, four‑gas meter, ionization detectors, etc.
• Maintain and update analytical data, field reports, and Excel databases.
• Communicate with internal team, subconsultants, and clients via e‑mail, text, IM, and phone.
• Review analytical reports and field data collection reports to ensure compliance with client requirements.
• Identify process improvements to benefit clients.
• Comply with Stantec and client policies, including safety, anti‑harassment, and drug use.

• High attention to detail.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, and able to learn new software systems.
• Active 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification preferred.
• Current First Aid & CPR certifications preferred.
• Ability to track multiple concurrent requests.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Mindfulness and judgment for client and safety issues.
• Flexible work schedule:
  Monday‑Friday 8 a.m.‑5 p.m.; 10‑20% field work, moderate travel, and occasional overnight stays.
• Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a science‑related field, or professional experience in environmental projects and sampling activities preferred but not required.

Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & various CA, NJ, VA areas: $44,200.00 – $59,700.00 annually.
